Home sick....

Hi Friends, I just realized that I haven't posted since this summer...geez! Well since then i got a job at the Public Library, went back to school, visited Boston, yadda yadda.

Today I'm home sick, I think I may have strep throat. When i was in highschool I had strep throat (a million times) often but it's been a while. And really I thought having my tonsils removed would stop this from happening but I guess not.  So yeah, I'm feeling a little better now but I think that's due to the cold medicine I took this morning.  Last night I went to bed at 6:30 and I slept fairly well until 1 am when the medicine wore off.  I managed to get back to sleep but it was one of those turning/tossing/waking up every 45 mins kind of sleep.  Anywho, today I'm just trying to take it easy, I'm going to make some tea and maybe watch the Muppets Family Christmas :)

OMG I'M DYING!!

Hi! :) I'm still here, I've just been busy. I'm not sure what the last thing I posted was but we're all in the new house and pretty much settled, there's just a little more unpacking to be done. I was working at a jewellery store but left that for Reitman's, which is fun but the hours suck (i officially worked 6 hours this week in 2 shifts) so I'm still kind of looking. It's nice to have free time, but reading won't pay the rent so yeah. I have some new possibilities so I'll have to go downtown this week to apply for them. Hopefully either the hours at Reitmans pick up or I get another job (I'll probably keep Reitmans tho because it's fun, the discount is good and i could keep it during the year/christmas season if i want).

So there's my work issues :P On the brighter side I've been talking to a couple of my profs and Dr. Pope (an archaeologist/classics prof) is going to supervise my independent study this year! :D This is awesome for a couple of reasons, a. Dr. Pope is amazing, he's even currently in Sicily and i don't know how he has internet connection but he's already setting stuff up with the departments for me! The reason why this takes more setting up then usual is because he's from the classics department but i'm taking the study as an art history credit. The thing is Mac doesn't have an ancient art professors who work in the Art History dept, they borrow them all from the classics department, but because i'm applying to Art History grad school it makes more sense this way, ALSO it will save me from having to take some of the art history classes i really didn't want to take (screw you history of graphic design!! I avoided you at Georgian and I'll avoid you here too!! mwhahaha!). AND hopefully this looks good when I apply to grad school, because i'll have already started research in the field i want to persue, and have a prof who has worked with me in a research setting.

Blah that was long!

Ok I'm just going to put the rest in point form:
-Going to see pirates next weekend but can't saturday night (i have to email Colin)
-I started gardening and things seem to be going ok, we have a ton of ants in the backyard tho so i need to do something about that. Yay for pretty flowers tho!
-the bunnies are good altho they got baths yesterday, which they weren't impressed about but really it was hilarious!

Ok I better be off...later days!

Mixed feelings

Well today is the last day at the apartment. I'm happy to be moving :) but a little sentimental over leaving the first place James and I ever lived together in. Definitely more happy than sentimental though, the new house is reeeeally nice and I'm going to love having a backyard and more room for me and the bunnies. I just wish the COGECO guy would show up already!

On a sadder note, an LJ friend, Bluebeyonder, passed away really suddenly. She was only 26, and although I didn't know her long/extremely well, she was always cheerful and nice. :( I really hope she's in a better place now...

Can someone build me a time machine?

I just need to be about a week from here....actually just a week from yesterday evening would be good. I dont want to go to school/work anymore. :P

On the note of 300, does anyone remember a little movie called Gladiator? 300 was a pretty good movie, but probably not worth all the hype (James inserts that it was really Gladiator + LotR + Star Gate (mainly for Xerxes)=300).

On a final note, I love coffee, but from this day on I refuse to pay $5 for a frappucino, or and cino in fact. I'm adding to my summer to-do list, I'm going to learn to make (cheap) frappucino's at home because while i was out shopping today i realized 120 frappucinos (probably more than i actually consume in a year but still)=one $600 mattress that will last 10 years.

Just wanted to say I'm home, for those that didn't konw I had left I was in Iroquois (outside of Ottawa) for Easter with the family. :) There's lots of painting, dogs, the nephew and the Bargain Shop involved so it was all good. Oh and btw Claire is the best house/bunny-sitter evar! Thanks for doing the dishes :D I owe you a drink/dinner/something good!

On another note, school is almost finished! :D And so I am going to make a list of things to do this summer:

1. Move...should be easy to do this one as we've already signed the lease and we're going to be kicked out of this place at the end of April anyways

2. Actually write the Zombie movie, it's a romantic-thriller-Zombie-comedy, think same genre as Shaun of the Dead but very different story...

3. Finish all the Harry Potter books, now that the last one is coming out I'm going to read them all, twice :)

4. Decide which grad schools to apply to in the fall...easier said than done

5. Make as much jewellery as possible. I have almost all the things I could need for it, so I just need to set up my little corner in the new house and get at it.

6. Have as many BBQ's/movie nights/fire in the fire pit that i hope i can have in the backyard nights as possible :)

Ok I guess that's it for now...some things don't seem like much but we'll see how much I get done...let the summer begin!

My face feels like it's about to fall off...or at least I wish it would. I hate having a cold and this is the worst weekend ever to be sick...I have an essay to finish (and make sense out of), a major project (including a website) to finish and a finance project. I hate work and I hate being sick, the two together are even better. Pray for me ;)

PS With Love by Hilary Duff is one of my least favourite songs...ever

Almost there....

Ok so I got a letter about the summer research thing, I didn't win one but I'm on the 'waiting list' incase someone drops out. That's not bad considering a friend (who I consider really smart) seems to have been just turned down.

I have to say though that I hate not knowing what's going on. There's some stuff going on at work which might result in a really good job for me but it might not, in the meantime I'm still looking for a job but I don't like the maybe/maybe not part of it all. I'm also a little concerned that if I don't work at Lyons this summer that I won't be able to find another job. Basically if this better job doesn't appear I could still work at Lyons like I did last summer but it wouldn't be enough to really support myself for the summer, nevermind try to save for September. Gah :P

On another note, I can't wait until school is over!! One week left! :) And then it's exams, packing, Easter at Jonathon's and a bbq at the new house! (and hopefully a new job) w00t :)

Okies this is for the non-Facebook users and a reminder for the others...

Saturday March 24th is a little birthday get together at my place. It'll start around 8-ish and will probably be a pretty low key affair. Just bring your alcoholic beverage of choice and your lovely self. Hope to see you there!

Second post in two days :) It seems like a record lately. Here's my issue/decision for the day, I technically have a job for the summer if I want it. I can stay at the Video/Slide Library if I want for the same crappy pay as last summer. Which is ok in some ways because then i don't have to worry too much about getting a job, although I will still have to get a second job because Lyons doesn't pay enough for me to be able to save any money for the fall. Really though, I don't think I can spend another 4 months there....my co-workers and the work itself is too much i think :) I'd rather learn something new and have a fresh group of people to love/hate. And then there's the issue of the bus, as i'll be living on the mountain then I would have to buy a bus pass. Soooo the only way I can see myself doing this is if I do win the Research award and that way i have to come to campus anyways to do my research so i could work at lyons and make some good money. It depends what kind of guidelines the award has too though i guess, they never stated an expected number of hours to be worked or even what kind of finished product they would like. I'm taking this as a thesis kind of project where I end up writing a very long paper at the end. Meh, i guess my other options are retail of some sort, including Wal-Mart, and while I'm not super big on returning to Wal-Mart, the money is good....Someone find me a fun summer job that pays really well kay?

Ok back to class :P I'll post a pic of the new house if i manage to take one when I'm showing it off to the parents this weekend :)

I'm alive! :) I just realized I haven't posted in over a month probably. Weeeeell, since then I've had a toothe ache, got antibiotics, was allergic to said antibiotics, got an itchy rash pretty much everywhere on my body, got different antibiotics, etc. On a more academic note I've decided to apply for a Humanities Undergrad Research Award, which means I would get paid $5000 to research a topic all summer, sounds good eh? Well I'm late getting started so I'm trying to get it all together before 4 today. Wish me luck :) Otherwise, the bunnies are still alive and chewing, they haven't destroyed anything recently though and James is still working/going to school and playing WoW. Speaking of which, I cracked during break and got the expansion, however I have to cancel/put on hold my account until the summertime so i don't fail school, but if anyone else still plays let me know and we can meet on a server sometime :D

Ok I should get going, the work never stops here!!

And PS This weekend is the Brier Weekend!! YAY!! WE have awesome (or supposed to be awesome) tickets to all the championship games, I'm soooooo excited!! I'll see you in the Brier Patch ;)

Tomorrow I will finish my making Christmas presents, clean the house and get the bunns ready to go to their bunny-grandma's :D It's almost time for my real vacation :) I hope James gets home soon, it's 11 and he still hasn't come home from work (he had errands to do...)

Happy holidays all!

Guess what friends, Wikipedia is NOT a reliable source to base your essay on, who woulda thought?! This is my pet peeve as a TA and a student with some silly peers.

Anywho, other than things being annoying, i'm not bad. I've finished marking my essays and I'm on to studying for Contemporary art and Early Christian art. Both don't look like fun finals but what can you do? After that it's just Greek and I have two weeks to study for it so I'm not too worried about that. Okay I should pay attention, just wanted to let you know that I'm still alive....
